I live in Brunei, in south east Asia; I have lived here many years with my husband and originally two cats, now four. I was born and grew up on the Isle of Wight in the south of England, and still love to go back there when I can. I enjoy creating art quilts inspired by the natural world here:the rain forest, scenery, flowers, plants and wildlife mostly from south east Asia but occasionally from Europe too, just to make a change.
I have been sewing for many years but until recently only made the more traditional style patchwork and appliqué quilts. I use a variety of techniques to create my wall hangings, from intricate needleturn appliqué, foundation piecing, satin stitch, raw edge and invisible machine appliqué. I mostly use batiks and hand dyed fabrics in my quilts because I love their texture and colours, and also because they suit my subject matter.
